Welcome to Ramstein Air Base in the charming state of Rhineland-Palatinate/Germany, embedded in the Kaiserslautern Military Community - the largest American community outside the United States. Here, the 86th Airlift Wing plays a leading role as the dynamic host wing of the Air Base and an indispensable engine of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe.
Ramstein Air Base is the largest hub of the U.S. Air Force and the most important platform for airlift and medical evacuation of the U.S. Department of Defense outside the United States. It is not without reason that we refer to it as the "Global Gateway to Europe".
